what we do
ID clean Energy Causes to rally around
Black people have been on the frontlines of climate change since the crisis began giving us a lot to gain by eliminating fossil fuels. We have an unrealized opportunity to lead the transition to clean energy as a community. Yet, Black communities have low levels of clean energy lifestyle adoption and few opportunities to access modern, zero-emission technologies. As Black communities steadily grow, becoming a more crucial part of the electorate, KEK’s mission is to reach an untapped audience that is crucial in the fight to protect existing climate policies, advance clean energy solutions, and protect our democracy.
Y’all already know it serious out here with rising energy bills and this crazy weather. And on top of that, pollution affects most Black People than any other community because coal and gas plants are in our neighborhoods. And did I mention coal and gas is expensive?
So we look for opportunities to cut that mess out and to facilitate the the Clean Energy transition in our communities while creating the economic opportunity at the same damn time (in Future voice).

By organizing and campaigning under a mainstream and culturally relevant brand, KEK offers a new strategy for grassroots movement building and ensuring Black people are a key part of the clean energy economy.
